“Opportunity is more important than Salary or Security. Opportunity makes us fully use our talents, grow our skills, become more creative, expand our network and gives us a positive attitude. You can lay me off, fire me, downsize me, destroy my 401k and bankrupt SS. For the record, I have experienced 4 out of 5 and may be a perfect 5 for 5 if I live long enough. However, everyday free enterprise out weights government control and intervention. I have the Opportunity to freely worship God, have a positive attuide and do something positive with my life and support my family. ”
Gary, Minnetrista on April 6“Good question, hard answer. I don't think there is any such thing as job security. So best to know what one is worth the employee market, keep skills up and make one's current employer successful. If I do that I should get a fair salary or be able to move to another company that will provide one for what I contribute.”
Tom, Minneapolis on November 24“Hopefully it's security as anyone working just for the cash is unlikely to be contributing their best efforts to the broader success of the organization. The freedom to contribute and having one's contribution appreciated generates benefits all round. ”
Roger, Winona on November 24“Security. The peace of mind knowing you have a job to go to each morning, friendly faces of co-workers to greet you when you walk in each day and the independance to get your job done and feel good about your work is very rewarding and valuable. The salary and benefits will come. ”
